Frequently Asked
Do you have my LV cover on file?
Most likely yes. We hold an enormous library of cover specs from decades of trade work. Send us the brand and model and we'll confirm.
Do you ship Australia-wide?
Yes — we dispatch nationwide. Local Melbourne pickup is also welcome at our Kilsyth workshop.
What materials do you machine?
Acrylic, polycarbonate, HDPE, nylon, acetal, ABS, PVC, foam PVC, timber and more.
What's your turnaround time?
Standard LV covers typically dispatch within a few business days. Custom fabrication depends on scope — we'll confirm at quote stage.
Where can I use Acrylic Plastic?
Acrylic rigid sheets (also known as Plexiglas, Perspex, or Lucite) are super versatile, and you can use them in a bunch of different settings: Electrical Switchboard covers, Table Tops, Shelves, Cut out Shapes, Signs, Photo Frames, Partitions or Window glass replacements.
Is the acrylic sheet weather-resistant?
Cast acrylic especially is made to be UV-resistant, meaning it won't yellow or degrade under sunlight over time. Acrylic is non-porous and doesn't absorb moisture, so it won't warp, rot, or mold. It can handle most outdoor temperature swings (-30°C to ~80°C / -22°F to ~176°F) without cracking or becoming brittle.
What is Polycarbonate and is it better than acrylic?
Polycarbonate (PC) is a high-performance thermoplastic known for being extremely tough and impact-resistant. It's often used in places where strength, durability, or safety is critical. Brand names include Lexan, Makrolon and Tuffak. There's no clear winner between Acrylic and Polycarbonate — acrylic is cheaper, clearer (much like glass), more scratch resistant and UV inhibited, while polycarbonate is extremely durable, great for glazing, weatherable with very high impact resistance and can be fabricated without breakage.
I need high wearing plastic, what can I use?
There are many hard wearing plastics such as ABS, HDPE, UHMWPE and NYLON. Depending on the application and the environment, different plastics perform significantly better than others — give us a call and we'll point you to the right one.
I want a plastic but I am not sure what I want.
